Skopje, 9th of June, 2022. An in-person information day was organized at Faculty for Dentistry (UKIM), which was attended by 13 students who were very interested. During the info day, Dean Prof. Dr. Kjiro Ivanovski, Prof. Kristina Mitik and Dr. Vlatko Kokolanski emphasized the faculty's interest for the best of their students in this important period when there is big demand for a good dentists in the country. On the info day the students who were present, were really interested and engaged in the discussion and had willingness to participate. They wanted to learn how to improve their CV, Motivation Letter skills and be more complete for the labour market. Also, high interest was noticed for the grant because they don’t get any reimbursement for practical work.
However, there is a huge brain drain in the country and the majority of students emigrate to Germany or the USA immediately after their studies. There are enough private practices as potential employers, and above all the state dental university itself is looking for good prospective dentists. In the summer of 2022, 30-35 prospective dentists are expected to graduate. Interest was signalled that career training could also be offered for other medical faculties (pharmacy, general medicine). Due to the limited time and the current exam period, not all faculties could be informed for this program. We are given a guided tour of the dental university clinic, which was completely renovated a year ago and makes an ultra-modern and well-run impression. However, investment in human capital I crucial at this moment.
