My name is Rivana Amelia, coming from a country where using family name is not common. Thus, if I get asked what's the take-away of my stay in Germany so far, I will proudly say: the ability to patiently explain to people that AMELIA is not my dad's name.
Another fruitful take-away is being able to understand that there is a difference of being 'a broke immigrant student' and 'an international scholarship holder'. I might be both, yet I always have a choice on how I see who I am: It's a matter of perspective!
And yes, joining Grenzenlos project is one of several ways for me to broaden my perspective about myself and people around me. More interestingly, it allows me to share that perspective to other people and have an educational discussion about it through seminars and teaching cooperation. Undoubtedly, it will benefit me personally and professionally.
Throughout the process, I carry out a topic “Climate Change and Plastic Pollution: We are Drowning in Plastic”. This topic has piqued my interest due to my involvement in my hometown to raise awareness regarding the same issue, since we have experienced a direct impact caused by the issue in our daily life.
