Description of the Organization

Latinamerikagrupperna is a non-profit organization without connections to any particular political party or religious movement. The organization works in Latin America, and the activities involve mainly volunteer services. Each volunteer practices his/her profession on a two-year contract. When returned to Sweden, they get involved in information and solidarity activities.

Description of the Organization

Swedisch Pentecostal International Relief and Development Agency (PMU) is involved in over 200 current projects in 65 countries. The emphasis of our work is on education and health care. Humanitarian aid is also a substantial part of our mission. PMU InterLife provides support to Swedish personnel throughout the world by making contributions to volunteers and job trainees. Communication activities are performed to strengthen interest in development issues. Funding is obtained from Sida (Swedish International Development cooperation Agency), private donors, congregations, companies and second-hands stores.

The Swedish Red Cross (Svenska Röda Korset) is one of the 175 national societies that compose the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The Swedish Red Cross is religiously and politically independent. The main goal is to prevent and relieve human suffering in Sweden and in the world.

Description of the Organization

The Democratic Society East Foundation (DSE) is a public service organization established in 2002. The Foundation's mission is the development of civic society through education in Poland and countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Major activities conducted by DSE in recent years:

I. Global Education Projects
a) Long-term program "How to Operate and Cooperate, How to Exist and Co-exist in the Modern World" – educational materials and training for the teachers
b) Competitions for the Best Initiative in the Field of Global Education (2005, 2007)
c) Global Education Festival (2006)
d) Volunteerism in the East (long term program)

II. Journalists in Civic Society
