Summary:

Cameroon because of its richness in nature (rainforest and grassland savannah) and culture is known as “Africa in Miniature”. It is a country having more than 240 ethnic groups, speaking more than 240 dialects. In addition to that there is English and French as the main languages inherited from their colonial masters; The United Kingdom and France respectively. Amongst all these 240 ethnic groups in Cameroon we have Moghamo. Looking at Cameroon which is a third world country still striving to develop, this will somehow not be possible with the migration boom that goes on in the country. The focus in the project will be to identify those factors that push people out of that country and their migration experiences out of Cameroon. To achieve this objective, the target group which will be used to collect data are the Moghamo people of the North West region of Cameroon.

Moghamo migrants in Germany, which the researcher is one of them, for one reason or another made the decision to migrate to Germany. It is realised that those who migrate are the strong and energetic youths, most usually still not married, mostly skilled workers. Also, a majority of them attend a level of education before migrating. There are lots of factors that pull Moghamo people out of their fatherland into Germany. They migrate in search of ‘greener pastures`; better educational system, good jobs, security and better health care system which all boils down to seeking for a better life.

From the factors mentioned which causes migration, the problems that pushes them out can easily be detected. The educational system, health care system and the job market in Moghamo and Cameroon at large is poor. These migrants upon arriving their destinations have some difficulties in acquainting themselves to the new environment. In order to remedy the above situation, recommendations are going to be made on how policy makers and implementers can help to cub down migration also what can be done in Germany to make the lives of migrants more comfortable in Germany.
