Governmental organization

The State Media Center functions as the center of excellence for media education in Rhineland-Palatinate. Since it was founded, the Center has been dealing with the interrelation between today's media and the needs of schools and their surrounding environments. The center's competence covers the entire range of different media. As the central institution of the state Rhineland-Palatinate it is thus able to play a mediating role in questions concerning media pedagogy between schools, science, economy, technology, and society. The State Media Center's aim is to provide schools and pedagogical support systems with information, as well as with communication and cooperation opportunities. Therefore, the main focus is on the creation and maintenance of an Internet platform for these purposes.
